WoW, The new version is a huge improvement!

I love the new layout, all in one view with no separate queue window.

I love the new processing view and animations, and love the new rules as well.

Question, what rule should I add to auto clear the comment tvdb and tmdb field?

I love what you guys have done, I couldn't suggest for anything else.

Thanks for making this beta available, any ballpark on release date? Price?

I love how this new version sorts the actors names properly in the metadata and that it monitors a folder. Awesome release! Looking forward to the final version!

    i like the update.

Feedback - i have set watch folder, and it is picking up new media in main and sub folder - excellent!, however it is not automatically converting the media - i have checked the start option on the watch folder that i assume is intended to automatically start the convert?

Been giving it a shot, and it's doing fairly well for the most part.  If you set up a watch folder, you start getting recursion issues if you have it set to use the same directory for conversions (the converted files are added into iFlicks since they end up in the watch folder).  While this isn't necessarily "unexpected" behaviour, it could easily confuse some users.  Other than that, it seems pretty solid.  I've converted a bunch of files and had no issues.  Moving the queue into the main window was long overdue and iFlicks genuinely feels like a bonafide OS X citizen now.

It's by far the best tool to use for these sorts of things.  One question though: what is the source for the square images?  I'm curious since they're not the easiest to find and I'd love to grab back-seasons; at this point iFlicks seems to just use the "latest' available image for a show; I'd love to get season-specific images.

Anyways, great work! It's very promising and a good upgrade from 1.4.x :-)

So far the new iFlicks is fantastic!

Couple things noticed along the way...

Updating metadata of items already in iTunes:

    1) Cannot add items that aren't located in the current media folder location. For example - if you have two hard drives hooked up and both hosting media to iTunes, but only one of those can be your "media folder location" - any items that are IN iTunes, but NOT IN the media folder location, ie the hard drive location under the Advanced tab in iTunes Preferences, cannot be added to iFlicks.

    2) When updating TV Shows for items already in iTunes - iFlicks appears to be taking the Disc number of the show (which would be the season number) and applying that to the episode number during look up. So, should I wish to bulk update all of a particular season of a show, say Battlestar - and have iFlicks add artwork where I had none before - the new iFlicks renders every episode of season 2 as being Season 2 Episode 2... which is problematic.

So far those my only issues - and they're very 'me' specific - a great app all around. Super job!

The app is even greater, amazing. Any way to add multiple subtitles in different languages?

Brad, prior to the squared art being included in iFlicks beta, I grab all my squared artworks from either http://squaredtvart.tumblr.com or http://bendodson.com/projects/itunes-artwork-finder/ hope these are of some use to you.

Very cool update, I like it at all, only thing missing from 1.4.8 is subtitles auto add, is there any settings I'm missing for this?

New update UI is great, haven't had too much time to test out but will over the next few weeks.

One question I have is about the "Optimize for Streaming" the previous version would just do this automatically? Does it make a big impact if you have it off now?

Square artwork is a vey welcomed addition, I've been using rules forever to fill those.

Feedback on the meta data panel. If possible having a smoothing animation when selecting the button, it just jumps directly to the panel. Not a huge piece but would be welcomed.

Are you going to be re-implementing Growl support?

New version is great but I have found one serious bug so far. If I submit let's say 6 episodes of a TV season at once when I hit start to start the conversions, iflicks stops responding.

If I hit start with only 1 in the window, I can then submit the others as a batch once the first conversion starts.

I can then add as many as I like once it is going.

    Weird ?

Guys - I love the new version of iFlicks.Love the higher res Series album art. Just be careful of the "Update Metadata and Rename" function. I have completely destroyed 80 of my movies. "iTunes compatible" works best for me.

I have iFlicks from the App store, I was just wondering when this is released will we get a upgrade or do we have to buy the full version?

    I love this update!

One feature that I cannot find yet in this version is being able to set a role to 'Sort video into subfolder'

I don't see a way to do this anywhere anymore :(

Love the update. Wondering what the flashing network icon is when processing a file? Also becomes quite a memory hog, I have 16gb ram and nearly all of it is consumed when the queue is being processed. Im sure as it is a beta this issue will be resolved, see screenshot attached.

Also another issue, but not sure if it is iFlicks or how my iTunes library is setup. Currently im in the process of moving all of my media to my new NAS, after shutting down last night and turning back on today, while browsing my library through Apple TV all of the artwork had disappeared and I was only seeing about a third of my content, again, this may be an issue with my setup. Removing all my files from iTunes and adding them back to the Library solved the issue.

Does anyone know if I need change the location of my iTunes Library Database files to somewhere on the NAS??? Perplexing.

Hi, I start testing today the app.

I just want to "add" metadata on some mp4 files.

With iFlicks 1, I can add metadata just in seconds, to my mp4 stored on a NAS,

With iFlicks 2, I try to do the same but "rewrites" whole file again.

Why? for the moment I continuo to use iFlicks 1 when I just want to add metadata.

    @maeltj

    try the following settings:

    Preset: Update Metadata

Uncheck the following options, if not already:

    Optimize for Streaming option

    Delete Source File

    Add to iTunes

It should work, it did for me. Just updates the Metadata in a matter of seconds.

Will 2.0 be an update to the existing MAS version or be sold as a new app?

Just bought the MAS release of v2, lovely discount, thank you for that.

My quick question is that the MAS version is showing no rules, either built in ones or those I’ve created with the beta, as there is no export option in the beta, what is the best way for me to import them?

    Thanks.

After just updating metadata how do I get it to show in iTunes?

For now, I needed to select "get info" for each individual file to update itself. Is there an easier way?

Just sorted my own issue, if anyone else is having this problem, the MAS version has a folder in ~/Library/Containers/com.iflicksap.iFlicks2/Data/Library/Application Support named iFlicks 2, whereas the one from the demo was just called iFlicks, once I renamed the original folder and replaced the new one all was good, which I’m pleased about as I have around 45 different rules, and didn’t fancy configuring them all again.

I would love to see an Import/Export option in future versions though.

I used iFlicks 1 just to update the metadata on my iTunes movies.  I encoded and did all of that elsewhere.  I did this by selecting the iTunes --> Services and running the movie in iFlicks to just update the metadata.  It seems like Services are not available in iFlicks.  I tried the above presets from "Danilo" but is started to re-cede rather than just update meta data.  I selected the file to update from my file server since that is where the m4v is stored, not actually in iTunes.

Anyone know how I can update iTunes metadata with iFlicks 2, without re-encoding with a file not physically in iTunes library?

@Paul Thanks for the info, unfortunately AppZapper deleted those files when I zapped the beta before purchasing : (

Could I get a list of those default rules since mine is now blank?

I also have the same question as @Ian "Question, what rule should I add to auto clear the comment tvdb and tmdb field? "

I've tried a few different variants and get the same result.

Also, when I try to set the Destination folder to "Current Location" it defaults back to "iFlicks 2 Folder"

    Hi,

Im using Iflicks 2 purchased form the appstore. I try to change de default location to current position but instead it set its to iflicks folder.

I have tu use option to set other folder, I use to update tv shows data on the same folder on my NAS every time, but if I want to update something on other folders I have to look at it...

    Any clues?

    Thanks

    Hi,

First of all, great App! It works great so far.

    I've got one question though:

I always use the iTunes compatible setting for re-packing an .mkv to .mp4. While some movies just need

minutes to complete (6-10 min, 14gb file) some others need up to 5 hours with identical settings.

    Why is that?

    Thanks!

How can I talk to a real person (customer support) to help with my issue on Iflicks2?
