Version 1.4.1

Please add the ability to use hardsubs back or give us the option. The problem with softsub is that they are not styles the way I want, with hardsubs all my videos subtitles keep their formatting when converted. I also want to be able to view the video on devices that do not support softsubs. Please bring back hardsubs or give us the option.

Please provide PASS THROUGH conversion for MP4 M4V ATV2 compatible containers such as MP4Tools does. Its very quick and keeps the same quality which is great for MKV's... Hoping to get a response!

It's a great program - but I have a query - I purchased this off the Mac App Store, which is at 1.4.0 - yet the web version is 1.4.1.    Will the new version flow through to the Mac App Store, or can I update the program from this site and still maintain further updates on Mac App Store ? :)

Also wondering the same thing, Paul. I hope the App store will push it through soon, but if it doesn't, how can I update with the developer-site version? It asks for license keys and whatnot, but I can't find this info in the App Store purchased version. Can someone direct me to where this info is kept?

Agreed. Ive moved to iVI because the current app store version is too buggy with sync problems. Only came here to see if there was a fix because i like the iflicks interface better.

It is not possible to just switch between the App Store version and the Website version of an Application. For the App Store version a specific licensing mechanism has to be used, which is not compatible with other distribution mechanisms. Besides that both versions are equivalent.

The only reason why there is a discrepancy in the release dates is the review process at Apple. The version has been uploaded for review at the same time the website version was published.

Are you saying that version 1.4 in the App Store is the same as version 1.4.1 on your website?

No. 1.4.1 from the website is the same as 1.4.1 from the App Store.

Hi there.  Some of the text fields in iFlicks don't seem to match in the resulting fields in iTunes.  The text I enter in iFlicks in “Tagline”, shows up in iTunes in the “Description”.  What’s worse, iFlicks’ “Description” field is ignored, doesn’t show up anywhere!  The remaining fields are fine, I think…”Episode” and “Season” etc work.

Please fix this, as it makes using iFlicks much less attractive.  Thanks!  I have the latest version from the Mac App Store.

You can access both fields in iTunes. The one field is labeled tagline in iTunes, to indicate that it is really limited and can only hold a few characters (not suitable for a real description). You can access the description filed in iTunes by crtl-clicking an item and selecting "Show Description". The same way you access actors, directors, ....

I read this thread, hoping for an answer, but the answer given is unsatisfactory.  Here is why:

The WHOLE POINT of a "Description" is to d-e-s-c-r-i-b-e the movie.  If I run iFlicks on a movie, I see the result in iTunes.  If I customize the iTunes column-display to show "Description", all that I see is the tagline text. IF I USE MY APPLETV and merely select a movie, I see the poster art AND THE TAGLINE, not the Description, which is what I want when I want to browse through hundreds of movies.  It's Sunday night, and I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for. Here are my choices:

• "It is the greatest mystery of all because no human being will ever solve it."

• "Far up! Far out! Far more! James Bond 007 is back!"

• "Twenty years. Two people."

• "Warrior. Conqueror. Legend."

- They've got a long way to go"

• "A tale of love.  A story of horror."

• "The Clock Is Ticking…"

• "Welcome to the infantry."

• "... and hell followed with him."

So… In what universe is this considered to be USEFUL information, helping to make a spur-of-the-moment decision? Yes, if I manually and arduously transfer the Descriptions from iFlicks into iTunes' proper field, then each description is abbreviated on the AppleTV's display, but it leaves PLENTY of information for me to say "Oh, yeah - I saw that one already." Actual examples from the exact same movies listed above:

I would like to request some sort of option that would allow those of us with BIG video libraries to allow the actual, real, honest-to-goodness DESCRIPTIONS to actually go into iTunes' DESCRIPTION field, where they are supposed to go. Pretty please?

Taglines suck rocks. They convey no useful information unless you happened to be standing in the movie-theater lobby in 1963 or 2004, saw the poster and were intrigued enough to want to buy a ticket. Not really relevant in the modern digital age.

iTunes' movie store, Amazon and Netflix gives us descriptions when we are curious about watching a movie, and there isn't a measly tagline ANYWHERE on any of their pages. Why does iFlicks alone do this?

iFlicks is a seriously awesome application. So very, very good - It's butter-creamy smooth for so many of my needs, and this is the VERY LAST thing that niggles at me. If I sound crabby, it is because I have just spent twelve long, weary hours fixing the descriptions, one after the other. I don't ever want to do it again. This is a serious design-flaw, inconsistent with everything else.

I'ma super-loyal customer, and I promise to buy every version that ever comes out.
